At The Fashion Paradox, we take fashion-related pop culture very seriously… Obviously. With that being said, we’re starting a new series where we’ll be covering various aspects of the industry each and every week. Lucky for us, we lined this premiere up with one of the most important times of the year, a.k.a. New York Fashion Week. So for this week in fashion, our most noteworthy happenings were:
Yeezy Season 4
Located at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Parks, Kanye’s collection was greatly anticipated. With surprises like Sofia Richie’s first runway performance, Kim, Kendall, and Kylie in an all-matching Yeezy threesome, and an awkward first model walk, this show was both exciting and somewhat confusing. But are we really surprised? Matching his first three seasons with a neutral color palette, you can’t hate the man. He truly lives up to his name by being both iconic and daring.

The Chanel Party
A dinner thrown by Bergdorf Goodman for actress Keira Knighteley who is the new face of the Chanel jewelry line, The Jewelry Box. This was an event that dazzled in more ways than one. For guests who attended this event, jewels were set out and open to try on (hence Eva Chen’s photo above). The night ended by a serenading from singer, Andra Day. A classy evening thrown by a classy brand.

Just like with any fashion week, the street style game is always on point. New York didn’t disappoint this year. A lot of bright colors, a lot of flowy items, and a whole lot of Gucci pieces worth craving.

The Hillary Clinton Event
With the presidential campaign just around the corner, fashion week attendees saw a new type of show this year. This fundraising event for presidential nominee Hillary Clinton mixed politics with designers like Tory Burch, Marc Jacobs, and Diane Von Furstenburg. Music performances, catwalks, and dances were seen, making this pre-fashion week one of the highlights. If it didn’t have you “with Her” by the end of the night, you definitely had the idea of writing in Anna Wintour instead.

Tommy Hilfiger x Gigi Hadid
We’re all Gigi Hadid fans, just admit it. She’s beautiful, fun, and your everyday/relatable gal pal. Once she revealed via snapchat that she would be teaming up with legendary designer, Tommy Hilfiger, it was all we thought about. Although she debuted the line awhile back to a select group of people, the runway show was just as much the hype, if not more. With nautical-inspired vibes, this collection had us craving the sea.

That wraps up this week in fashion! Stay tuned for next week, where we’ll be catching up on the most happening parts of the industry.
